Why convert SVG to ICO?
ICO is the format needed for your website’s favicon or a Windows application icon; the tool writes sizes from 16 to 256 pixels into one file.
SVG is vector, so it is rasterised sharply at a minimum edge length of 1024 pixels; use the resize settings for a different size.

SVG is a vector format that uses mathematical shapes instead of pixels, so it scales to any size without losing quality. ICO is the format used for Windows icons and website favicons; one file can hold several sizes. It is not a general-purpose image format; sizes top out at 256×256 pixels.
Tips for the best results
- Icons must be square; non-square images are cropped from the centre.
- For the web, limiting the width to 1600 pixels cuts file size a lot while keeping visual quality (Resize section).
- Metadata such as GPS location and camera details (EXIF) is always removed from the output.
Privacy and security
Conversion runs entirely in your browser (using WebAssembly); your images are never uploaded to our server and never leave your device. The server only receives anonymous counters that contain no file names or content (source/target format, size, duration). Metadata such as location and camera details is always stripped from the output.
