Passport / ID Photo Resizer

To resize a passport photo, choose the size (for example 2×2 inch = 600×600 px at 300 dpi), drop your photo in and convert. The tool centre-crops to the size; it does not detect or centre the face and cannot guarantee that an authority will accept the photo.

You can set a separate format, quality and size for each file.

How sizes convert to pixels

Printing and online applications often ask for centimetres, millimetres or inches. At 300 dpi they correspond to:

SizePixels (300 dpi)
2 × 2 inch600 × 600
35 × 45 mm413 × 531
45 × 60 mm531 × 709
50 × 60 mm591 × 709
40 × 60 mm472 × 709

How to use it

  1. Choose the size with the buttons above.
  2. Drop the photo in and convert. The photo is cropped from the centre to fill the exact size.
  3. Check the result with “Compare”. If the head and shoulders are not framed correctly, crop the photo in another app first, or use “Fit without cropping” to add white padding.

Important notes

If there is a file-size limit (for example 200 KB), turn on “Target file size”. You can prepare several people’s photos in one batch. To print them on one sheet, try combining images into one PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How many pixels is 35x45 mm?
At 300 dpi, 35×45 mm is about 413×531 pixels. 2×2 inch is 600×600 pixels.
Will the photo be accepted for an official application?
We cannot guarantee that. The tool only sets the size; face position, background, expression and file rules depend on the authority you apply to. Check their current requirements.
What if the face is not in the centre?
Cropping is done from the centre. If the face is off-centre, crop the photo in an image editor first or use “Fit without cropping”.

No; ID-style photos never leave your browser.
