How to convert PNG to PDF

  1. Drag your PNG files into the box above or click “Choose files” (folders and pasting from the clipboard work too).
  2. PDF is preselected as the output format; adjust quality, size and target file size if you like.
  3. Press “Start converting”; files are converted in your browser, in parallel.
  4. Download the files one by one or grab them all as a ZIP.

Why convert PNG to PDF?

PDF is the right choice for sending, printing or archiving images as documents; each image becomes a one-page PDF at its own size, or you can combine all images into a single PDF.

If a PNG has transparency it is kept when the target format supports it; otherwise the background colour you pick is used.

PNG may contain transparency; because PDF does not support it, transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose (white by default).

PNG is a lossless format with full transparency (an alpha channel). PDF is a document format for sharing content that looks the same on every device; images are embedded as pages. It is not suited to image editing and cannot be shown directly as an image on web pages.

Tips for the best results

Privacy and security

Conversion runs entirely in your browser (using WebAssembly); your images are never uploaded to our server and never leave your device. The server only receives anonymous counters that contain no file names or content (source/target format, size, duration). Metadata such as location and camera details is always stripped from the output.

Frequently asked questions

Is converting PNG to PDF free?
Yes. The tool is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens in your browser and your files never leave your device. That also means large files are processed quickly regardless of your internet speed.
Is there any quality loss?
Because PDF is lossless, the conversion adds no further quality loss. If the source was lossy to begin with, details that were already lost do not come back.
Is the transparent background preserved?
PDF does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with a background colour you can choose in the settings (white by default).
How many files can I convert at once?
There is no fixed limit; you can add hundreds of files or drag in a folder. Speed depends on your device: on multi-core processors files are processed in parallel. You can download all results as a single ZIP.
